Purpose:
Conjunctivitis is the most common eye disease worldwide, and involves a large group of factors leading to conjunctivitis. However, no evidence of conjunctivitis due to anal fissure surgery has been reported. The present article is therefore intended to report three cases of uncommon conjunctivitis and corneal aberration following anal fissure surgery.
Methods:
case series
Results:
Patients presented in this paper suffered from conjunctivitis and corneal aberration following anal fissure surgery. Technician’s anesthetic mask was reported to be with dconex53plus at concentration of 10% for disinfecting before surgery. Having searched the medical databases, we did not find traces of such conditions due to anal fissure surgery; therefore, these cases can be considered as the first reports of the condition.
Conclusion:
Our investigation revealed a probable cause of toxicity due to technician’s disinfecting the anesthetic mask with high concentrations of dconex53plus at concentration of 10%; however, it is still unclear why this abnormal condition occurred. Therefore, other scholarly views and reports are expected to enrich this proposition.
