Purpose:
To evaluate one year outcomes of repeat crosslinking in patients with progressive keratoconus.
Methods:
12 eyes with progressive keratoconus at least one year after primary collagen crosslinking entered this prospective interventional case series. Conventional crosslinking was performed for all patients. Visual acuity, refraction, corneal topography and aberrometry were evaluated before reoperation and in each postoperative visit.
Results:
Maximum keratometry increased during the follow-up period. (P=0.09) Corrected and uncorrected visual acuity did not change after one year. Thickness of the thinnest point decreased after one year. (P=0.07) Coma increased after one year of follow up. (P=0.08)
Conclusion:
Repeated crosslinking seems not to be effective in progressive keratoconus.
